Our Staff

Dr. Bob Archuleta, Founder and Medical Director
A practicing pediatrician in Richmond, Va., for 28 years, Dr. Archuleta received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Wyoming in 1971, and his medical degree from the University of Colorado in 1975. Dr. Archuleta received the President’s Award from the Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics for founding Noah’s Children in 1997. In addition, he was awarded the Distinguished Service for Ministry to Children by the Richmond Academy of Medicine in 2000, and has been featured in the “Best Doctors of America” list for the past three years. Dr. Archuleta is board certified by both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.


Sallye Hardy, Chaplain, Masters of Divinity, BCC
Sallye received her undergraduate degree in physical education from Ashbury College in 1972 and a Masters in Divinity from Duke Divinity School in 1986. She has owned and operated a day care center as well as serving as an Ordained Minister for several churches. Sallye has been a source of comfort throughout her career, aiding in Trauma Emergency Departments, facilitating support groups and working in women’s shelters. She joined Noah’s Children in January 2009 as a full time Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator.


Jennifer Hayes, RN
Jennifer earned her Masters in Social Work from Texas State University in 2002 and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University. She has worked as an RN in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) as well as Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) and has been a nursing instructor at 2 local colleges. Jennifer joined Noah’s Children in December 2009 as a PRN nurse.


Patty Hertel, RN, Pediatric Palliative Care and Hospice Nurse
Patty’s career has included working with both children and adults in acute hospital settings at MCV, Williamsburg Community Hospital and Sentara Hospitals. Over the last 10 years she has worked with children in the home care setting with CHKD, Sentara Home Care and Bon Secours Home Care. She recently joined Noah’s Children to pursue her goal of caring for children with life-threatening diseases.


Naomi Moskowitz, Volunteer Coordinator/ Community Liaison
Naomi joined Noah’s Children as Volunteer Coordinator/ Community Liaison in July of 2011. Previously, she served as the Director of Volunteer Services and Program Director for a non-profit, pediatric cancer organization in New Jersey for 5 years. Naomi has a teaching degree in education and has a variety of work experience, including work with at-risk youth. She has extensive background in real estate and finance and has directed a high school play. Mainly, she enjoys helping families and creating programs to support them while they experience hardship in their lives.


Anne Nordin, Compliance Auditor
Anne has an extensive background in banking and she joined Bon Secours Mission Department in October of 2007 as a Project Coordinator for the Administrative Director of Controlling Asthma in the Richmond Metropolitan Area (CARMA) and Noah’s Children. She is currently pursuing her degree in Business Administration and works for Noah’s Children as a Compliance Auditor.


Cathy Poythress, RN, Pediatric Palliative Care and Hospice Nurse
A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Cathy has worked with children who are chronically ill for the majority of her career, including positions at MCV Hospitals, Henrico Public Health Department, Children’s Health Involving Parents (CHIP of Greater Richmond) and IVNA Home Care. She was a recipient of the Unsung Hero Team Award by the Virginia Healthcare Foundation.


Beverly Rinde-Thorsen, RN
Beverly graduated with a BSN from Texas Christian University in 1982. She has worked in Emergency Rooms and Pediatric Units,as well as Hospice. Beverly worked for Bon Secours Richmond Health System for 20 years and returned last year to both the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Noah’s Children as a PRN nurse.


Gift Collection

As Noah’s Children has grown over the years, so has its art collection. Local artists, writers and poets have contributed their own designs and creations, and ongoing school art programs have helped Noah’s Children pursue additional fundraising efforts.
